In 5th grade, Aleza Freeman (Goldsmith) was elected editor-in-chief of her elementary school newspaper, the Tomiyasu Wallstreet Dragon. But it was in the second grade that she discovered her passion for writing. She penned a poem about the many practical uses for a unicorn’s horn and has been hooked on writing ever since.
Aleza has worked as a journalist in Marin County, San Francisco and Las Vegas. While in San Francisco, she had the opportunity to travel and report from Israel and Argentina. She then returned to Vegas, where she served as News Editor for a chain of weekly newspapers, and later as a multimedia journalist for an entertainment and tourism website. Her articles have appeared in publications nationally and internationally, including the Jerusalem Post and the Los Angeles Times. Aleza has won several awards from the Nevada Press Association and Suburban Newspapers of America, including first place awards for Entertainment Writing, Headline Writing and Page One Design.
Aleza currently lives in Las Vegas with her artist husband, curly-headed son, three female cats, an overweight goldfish and the occasional spider. She is a Senior Copywriter for a well-known Las Vegas Strip hotel as well as its sister properties, and is also developing an illustrated book of children’s poetry with her husband.
