July 2010 – In April, I made the move from journalism to copywriting. I was nervous about the career change at first, but it has actually been a fairly natural transition. It’s energizing to work side by side with designers and other creative people to come up with concepts and unique ways of sell our Las Vegas hotel casino properties. We have a lot of exciting projects coming down the line, including a cool new thrill ride campaign for the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower. Jumping into my new career

April 2010 – In 2004, I got engaged at the top of the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel, & Tower. In 2010, I celebrated my new job as their Senior Copywriter by jumping off of it. SkyJump Las Vegas at the Stratosphere is the world’s tallest controlled freefall. Jumpers leap from the tower’s 108th floor falling 805 feet at more than 45 mph. It’s a Vegas thrill, with strings attached! Video (made by my husband) follows:

March 2010 – Today I was the Guest Squeeze over at L.K. Thayer’s Poetry Juice Bar. An actor, singer/songwriter, designer and poet living in Los Angeles, Ms. Thayer was kind enough to “squeeze me” by featuring my poem American Dream on her blog. Be sure to check out her stuff!

Remember that thrilling box office smash hit “Snakes on a Plane”? Well, now here’s snakes on a “pane.” In this video, my coworker and I interview venom expert Donald Schultz inside a glass box filled with 65 venomous snakes. Schultz spent 10 days in the box during “Venom in Vegas,” a stunt to promote his show on Animal Planet, “Wild Recon.” Schultz offered some rare insight into several deadly snakes and the danger snake bites can cause to those living in poverty stricken areas:
